Stringent
environmental standards and new technology:
This
makes special demands on the health, safety and
environmental (HSE) aspects of the project. The
Group has placed particular emphasis on safety and
the environment in designing the technical
solutions.
Why
the Group ranks as an advanced technological and
environment project:
-
None
of its installations will interfere with
fishing, and the sub-sea facilities can be over
trawled.
-
The
field is to be produced in a closed system
without harmful emissions or discharges.
-
A
biological treatment plant on land will deal
with environmentally-harmful components.
-
Carbon
dioxide in the well-stream is being separated
out on land, piped back to the field and stored
underground.
-
A
new record will be set for piping unprocessed
well-streams over long distances.
-
This
is the first development with no surface
installations.
-
Gas
Liquefaction Technology has been specially
developed in cooperation with USA & European
high technology.
-
The
LNG carriers will be built to the strictest
environmental and safety standards.
HSE
target: The
HSE target for the Group is that its development and
production will cause zero accidents, lost-time
injuries, occupational illnesses, material loss or
damage to the environment.
Thoroughly
assessed: More
assessment studies have been carried out more than
on any other project of the group, has so far sought
to develop. More than 2 000 pages of technical
material, provided by many of international experts
in the relevant disciplines as well as the group's
own able specialists, underpin this impact
assessment.
