  • Resistant to water, most solvents, petroleum based products, diluted acids and alkalis.

COLOURS
APEXSEAL NS in Grey. Other colours to order. APEXSEAL P is available only in black.

INSTALLATION
JOINT DESIGN
Joint depth/width ratio must be 1 : 1 up to 12 mm wide (with a minimum width of 6 mm). Actual width to be at least 4 times the anticipated joint movement. For triangular fillets, contact with each surface should be at least 10 mm.

PREPARATION

  • 1. Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry, free of dust or any other impedance to full adhesion.

  • 2. Always support by bond breaker, compressible backing strip or other approved backer or filler.

  • 3. The use of BITUMAT APEXSEAL PRIMER is recommended.

APPLICATION

  1. Mix the entire contents of the two components using a slow speed mixer drill at about 450 rpm. Uniform blending takes between 5 and 10 minutes. Ensure that air is not stirred into and trapped in the mixture. Hand mixing is possible but not recommended.

  2. After mixing, the pot life of 2 hours at 25°C can be shortened by extremes of temperature and humidity.

  3. Mask the joint edges and ensure complete contact between the sealant and substrate by tooling the surface with a flat knife or spatula. This also removes any entrapped voids.

  4. Masking tape should be removed immediately after tooling.

  5. Remove uncured sealant with universal thinners.

  6. The sealant becomes tack free with initial set within 24 hours. Full care properties are generally obtained ,,within 7 days.

  7. Full curing is required before permanent immersion in water.

STORAGE Store in a dry, shaded area. At 25°C a shelf life of 6 months can be anticipated.

STANDARDS APEXSEAL meets the requirements of BS 4254 : 1 983

PACKING APEXSEAL comes in units of Base Compound and Curing Agent (in separate tins)
